FBA hosted first summer school of this year

From June 13th to 21st the first summer school of this year named “Design for the Business of Change” took place at the Faculty of Business Administration. The summer school was led by skilled professionals from the field of social anthropology Jeffrey Schonberg, a lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at San Francisco State University and a research fellow at the Institute for the Study of Social Issues at the University of California, Berkeley, and Tomáš Ryška, an assistant professor at the Department of Strategy, University of Economics, Prague where he specializes in the complex interrelations between design, ethnography, and strategy.

The topics tackled during the summer school varied from ethnographic research to involved observations and interviews, taking field notes, CSR or finding design tools enabling ethnographic solutions for social or environmental issues.

The last lesson was dedicated to presentations of students’ projects, where they had to apply research methods they learned about during the summer school. Their topics were for example Effectivity of the Immigration Office in Prague, Homelessness, or Aging Population and Leisure Time Activities.
